Beat to a Pulp and Cash Laramie

I’m very excited to have a story of mine, “The Death Fantastique,” in David Cranmer’s forthcoming ebook, Beat to a Pulp – Hardboiled. I’ve said it elsewhere and I’ll restate it here, David is one of the most stand-up guys in crime fiction and all of us at Needle are huge supporters of BTAP and all of David’s various endeavors.

For example, Adventures of Cash Laramie and Gideon Miles. I don’t know if you’ve heard of this ebook, or its successor, Adventures of Cash Laramie and Gideon Miles Volume II, but it’s a collection of hardboiled western stories, by way of Elmore Leonard. And noir westerns are really a no brainer, when you think about it.

And the general public must agree. Adventures of Cash Laramie and Gideon Miles has been #1 in Westerns on in the Kindle ranking system for like, I don’t know, thirty-five years. Forty maybe. It has fifty five star reviews. FIFTY. 50. Five and a zero. FIVE STAR REVIEWS. That’s getting up in oh shit territory.

So, not only does Mr. Cranmer foster and coordinate some of the best crime noir in town with his online zine Beat to a Pulp, he’s a helluva writer to boot…with spurs.

Getcha some Cash Laramie.

  • Looking forward to reading Beat To A Pulp: Hardboiled. I think one of the most exciting things for me about this one is that I know pretty much all of the contributors this time around. Had the same excitement for the new Needle issue. So many great writers… it’s nice having them made available to the little readers like me.

As for Cash and Gideon… love the short story collections that David has put together and I’m really looking forward to reading Volume II.

Love the website, John. You truly are a Master of many talents.
