Kindle Fire Giveawayon Jul 30 in Blog Post by johnhornor
CONTEST IS CLOSED, WINNER CHOSEN.
The Kindle Fire is an amazing little gadget. Running on Android platform, you can read books, watch videos, play Angry Birds, surf the web, check your bank account, and do whatever you like to do computer, internet-wise! Fits snug in your hand, too, which is one of the downsides to the iPad, which can be a little unwieldy if you’re commuting or on a plane.
Actually, I really don’t want to give this one away, now that it comes down to it. I feel a little like Bilbo at the beginning of the Lord of the Rings. (“And why shouldn’t I keep it? It’s mine, I tell you, my own! My precious!” “It has been called that before but not by you.” *Waggles eyebrows*)
Anyway, it’s a nice little gadget. This one has a leather case. It’s pictured below.
Here’s the deal. You send an email to contest at (replace “at” with @) johnhornorjacobs.com and include a scan, photograph, or screencapture of any kind of proof of purchase of This Dark Earth and you’ll be entered to win. RECEIPTS work the best. With each purchase, should you decide to buy more than one book, you’ll have extra chances. On Monday, September 17, 2012, I will announce the winner. I’ll also throw in an original Zombie Linocut and a signed copy of Southern Gods, my award winning first novel. Also a nice little note thanking you for buying my book and supporting the arts.
Disclaimer: Only residents of North America are eligible to win – that’s the United States of America and Canada to you and me. (Why? Because those are the only countries that This Dark Earth is available.) There’s no warranty or technical support given by me for this item. If you break it or can’t figure out how to use it, I’m sure the fine folks at Amazon.com will be able to help you. Your receipt or proof of purchase needs to be legible for entry.
You can’t win if you don’t play… er, buy my book! You can pick up a copy at any of the fine booksellers below.
YOUR ODDS OF WINNING AS OF AUGUST 14, 2012:
Special thanks to Chuck Wendig for Twitter-based advice on how to run a giveaway of this nature. Head on over to his awesome Terribleminds.com and give him some love and buy his books. I’m especially fond of DOUBLE DEAD, which has zombies and a badass vampire named Coburn protecting the last bit of the human race.
